What is the NYC DOB Worker Wallet card?
Summary: The Worker Wallet card provides digital proof of scaffold and rigging certifications.
Worker Wallet Cards are required to be used by construction workers and accepted by employers as proof of their certifications to work on certain construction jobs or equipment, i.e., scaffolds. The new card eliminates the need to carry multiple cards, allowing the card holder to house proof of all their certification information in one card. Like the SST Card, when scanned using the Training Connect App, the Worker Wallet Card reveals the cardholder’s certifications.
Training certifications included in the Worker Wallet:
- Mast Climber User/Operator and Refresher
- Climber/Tower Crane Rigger
- Rigging Supervisor
- Rigging Worker
- Supported Scaffold User
- Supported Scaffold Installer & Remover
- Suspended Scaffold User
- Suspended Scaffold Supervisor
- Periodic Gas Piping Inspector
Existing worker qualification cards issued prior to November 1, 2024, must be replaced by July 1, 2025, for any of the above-listed certification card holders to perform work that requires the qualification. To obtain a Worker Wallet Card visit a DOB-approved Course Provider. Course Providers may charge an administrative fee to issue the Worker Wallet Card.
What is the difference between the Worker Wallet card and the SST card?
The Worker Wallet Card is not replacing the SST Cards. The Worker Wallet and SST Cards will remain separate cards until further notice. However, both cards will be linked to the individual’s profile in Training Connect

How do I get a Worker Wallet card?
Members with scaffold or rigging certifications valid as of July 1, 2025 were sent Worker Wallet cards.
After July 1, 2025, members who take scaffold or rigging classes will automatically receive a Worker Wallet card after their class is complete, if they do not already have a Worker Wallet card.
