The following floor covering skill classes are being offered at the CTC as evening classes. For more information or to register for a class, please call Mike Reitano at (212) 727-2224, Ext. 113. You must be a journey-level 2287 member to take these classes.
Note: NWFA, Carpet, Resilient certification tests are offered separately. The courses below are designed to teach you new skills or refresh your existing skills.
Classes
Journey-Level Resilient – NEW
Journey-Level Resilient is a 14-week basic course, running 2 days a week. Class is designed to either teach new skills or refresh skills for Journeypersons. Course topics range from substrate prep, adhesive’s, VCT, LVT & LVP, linoleum, rubber, sheet flooring & coved base installations.
Journey-Level Carpet
Journey-Level Carpet is a 12-week course, running 2 days a week. Class is designed to either teach new skills or refresh skills for Journeypersons. Course topics will range from stretch in, direct bond, double bond, carpet tile and power stretching techniques.
Carpet and Resilient – UPDATED
Carpet and Resilient upgrade is 3-week course, running 2 days a week. Class is designed to help the Journey person with whatever specific topics they need help with. INSTALL carpet or resilient certification preparation, heat welding, linoleum, rubber or sheet flooring installation and so much more. Our workshop is your lab.
Flash Cove Sheet Flooring
Flash cove sheet flooring is a 3-week course, running 2 days a week class. Class is designed to help the Journey person acquire or refine the craft of flash coving. Course will cover preparation (cap and cove stick) Pattern scribing, direct scribing and free hand methods of installation flash coving.
